2024 NFL Survivor Pool - Rules


POOL SETUP:

There are 18 weeks in the NFL regular season

Choose one team every week who you think will win their game straight up (No point spreads)

You must choose a different team each week. (EX: If you choose Dallas in Week 1, you cannot use Dallas again the rest of the season.)
 
Your team must win the game, ties are considered a loss.
 
This league is double elimination. Here is how it works:
 
-- If your team wins, you survive to next week
-- If your team loses once, your entry is allowed one mulligan to move on to next week
-- If your team loses twice, your entry is eliminated.
(Exception: If you are still in contention for a payout, you continue playing until you no longer are)
-- Last Survivors win

NOTE: Payouts are typically for the Top 10, so this pool is run a bit differently than the common Survivor Pool. Read further for a breakdown on how payouts for 2nd thru 10th work.   

WINNERS/TIEBREAKERS:

The last entry remaining will be declared the NFL Survivor Pool champion.

If there is more than one person remaining after the final week of the season, ties will be broken using the following tiebreaker:
 
1.) Entries with no losses
2.) Entries with one loss
3.) Strength of Victory (SOV): Add (or subtract) the scoring differential for each game that you picked. Incorrect picks subtract from this total. Correct picks add to this total.
4.) If there is still a tie, all tied entries will split the respective payout.
 

LAST REMAINING ENTRIES ELIMINATED IN SAME WEEK:

There may be a situation where all remaining entries still alive in the pool get eliminated in the same week. If this situation were to occur, consider this an additional chance for all remaining entries. (i.e. If your team loses and all other entries lose too, all teams advance to next week). However, the teams chosen by each entry will be counted and may not be used again.

EXAMPLE:
Entry 1 chooses Arizona
Entry 2 chooses Buffalo
Entry 3 chooses Detroit
Entry 4 chooses Oakland
 
If Arizona, Buffalo, Detroit and Oakland all lose, all 4 entries are still alive to try again next week. Entry 1 may not use Arizona again, Entry 2 may not use Buffalo again, etc etc.

THE POOL CHAMPION HAS BEEN DETERMINED, BUT OTHER WINNERS HAVE NOT:

There may be a situation where the pool champion has been determined, but the remaining winners have not. If a champion is determined but 2nd, 3rd, etc place have not been determined, here is the procedure to follow:  

-If there are still weeks left in the NFL season, the remaining eligible entries will continue to make picks each week until a winner or winners have been determined.

 -If the NFL season is over and there is/are no clear cut winner(s) for the remaining payouts, tiebreakers in the "Winners/Tiebreakers" section above will be used. If there is still a tie, winnings will be split from those eligible.

MULTIPLE ENTRIES:

To increase your chances of winnings, you may play as many times as you wish. Each entry will be scored separately.

If you would like to play a 2nd or 3rd entry, you may choose them at signup. However, if you have already signed up and wish to add additional entries, please contact the league commish at info@primefantasysports.com and he will add them for you. 
 

SIGNUP:

IF YOU PLAYED LAST SEASON, when the pool is ready for the new season, you will receive an email invitation from the pool commissioner. In this email will be a link to a renewal signup page. Complete the renewal and your entry will be re-added to the pool for the season. 

NOTE:  You will still need to pay for your entry/entries in order to finalize your active status in the pool, however, instructions will be provided in that same email on how to renew your entry for the season. 

IF YOU ARE NEW TO THE POOL, you will need to use the full signup page before you can make selections online. 

STEPS TO SIGNING UP (NEW PLAYERS):

Please follow these steps closely for a pain free signup process.  

1.) Click the signup button in the "Cost to Play" section at the top of this page. This will take you to the signup page.
2.) Complete the signup page, then click "Submit" at the bottom of the signup page.  

After you have signed up, you should receive instructions on how to access your team and pay for your entries.

If you have any questions during the process, please don't hesitate to contact the league office. Just click on the email address at the bottom of this page.

Please note that in order to maintain the highest integrity of these pools, payments for all entries must be received by the deadline. If entries are not paid by the deadline, they will be removed from the pool for lack of payment. If you are having trouble with payment, please contact the commish.

SUBMISSION DEADLINES:

Selections for each week are due prior to the kickoff of each game. 

PICKS POSTED BY COMMISH:  If you need help making your selections or are having access issues, please contact the commish with your selection before the deadline and he will make it for you.
 

NO SELECTIONS:

No Pick: If your pick for a particular week is not submitted at all, you will receive an incorrect pick for that week and it will be treated as if you got your selection wrong.

SOV Adjustment: Since Strength of Victory (SOV) is used as a tiebreaker in this pool, if you do not make a pick during a particular week, the SOV assigned for your entry that week will be -20 points. 

If you need help making your selections or are having issues logging on, please contact the commish with your selection before the deadline and he will make it for you.

Ultimately, it is the responsibility of the pool participants to ensure that your picks are made and are entered before the picks deadline each week.

POSTING SELECTIONS/RESULTS:

WHEN ARE SELECTIONS POSTED: Selections are posted immediately after the deadline passes for each game.

WHEN ARE RESULTS POSTED: Results are posted shortly after the conclusion of each game.
