NHL Playoffs Pool - Rules

WHAT TO DO:

There are 4 rounds of the National Hockey League playoffs:

1.) Eastern/Western Conference Quarter-Finals (8 matchups)
2.) Conference Semi-Finals (4 matchups)
3.) Conference Finals (2 matchup)
4.) Stanley Cup Final (1 matchup)

Each entry will choose who they think will win each of the 15 series that comprise the National Hockey League playoffs.

Entries will also choose the number of games it will take for your choice of winner to advance

If you choose the winner correctly, you will receive points based on how close you came to the actual number of games chosen for that matchup

Any incorrect pick scores zero points

Example: St Louis vs vs San Jose (Western Conference Quarterfinals): You choose St. Louis in 6 games. If the Blues win their series, you receive 4 points towards your overall point total for choosing the winner and the correct number of games. If the Blues lose, you receive 0 points. The other series follow the same format, but points increase after each round. See "Points Distribution Section" below for how much the point values are for each round

POINTS DISTRIBUTION:

Choose the number of games you think the winner of the series will take to advance to the next round. Correct pick values increase each round until the Stanley Cup Finals. Below is the breakdown:

CONFERENCE QUARTERFINALS:
Correct Number of Games: 4 points
Number missed by 1 Game: 3 points
Number missed by 2 Games: 2 points
Number missed by 3 Games: 1 point

CONFERENCE SEMIFINALS:
Correct Number of Games: 8 points
Number missed by 1 Game: 6 points
Number missed by 2 Games: 4 points
Number missed by 3 Games: 2 points

CONFERENCE FINALS:
Correct Number of Games: 12 points
Number missed by 1 Game: 9 points
Number missed by 2 Games: 6 points
Number missed by 3 Games: 3 points

STANLEY CUP FINALS:
Correct Number of Games: 16 points
Number missed by 1 Game: 12 points
Number missed by 2 Games: 8 points
Number missed by 3 Games: 4 points

IMPORTANT: YOU MUST CHOOSE THE WINNER TO COLLECT POINTS. INCORRECT SELECTIONS SCORE ZERO POINTS

WINNERS/TIEBREAKERS:

The entry that accumulates the most points after the Stanley Cup Finals will be declared the NHL Playoffs League champion.

For all tied entries, any payout will be split among those entries still tied.
